Nürburgring/Hockenheim/German Grand Prix

The Nürburgring is a racing circuit in Nürburg, in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. Construction of the circuit began on 27 September 1925 around the village and medieval castle of Nürburg in the Eifel region. The opening was on the weekend of 18 and 19 June 1927. The circuit was nicknamed ‘The Green Hell’.

Previously, the course took riders over 28.265 km. It then consisted of the Nordschleife (22.835 km) and Südschleife (7.747 km), along 173 corners (89 left and 84 right turns).
