Rolf Stommelen

Rolf Stommelen (Siegen, 11 July 1943 - Riverside, 24 April 1983) was a German racing driver who competed in Formula 1 between 1970 and 1978. He achieved one podium finish.

Stommelen had already scored successes in hill-climb and endurance races when he made his Formula 1 debut for Brabham in 1970. In his first year, he achieved his best result, a third place at the Austrian Grand Prix. In the years that followed, he drove for Surtees and March, among others, but his performances declined.
